Subhash Ghai completes 50 years in cinema, announces new film on special occasion, unveils Shreyas Talpade’s ‘Manya’

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who completes 50 years in Indian cinema this year. He has released a new poster of his upcoming film ‘Manya’. Shreyas Talpade is in the lead role in this film. The poster was released on 24 October, which also happened to be the 48th anniversary of Subhash Ghai’s production house ‘Mukta Arts’. Through this film, Subhash Ghai and Shreyas Talpade are coming together again after almost two decades. Before this, they had worked together in the 2005 sports drama film ‘Iqbal’, which gave recognition to Shreyas Talpade.

Story of Shreyas Talpade’s ‘Manya’

‘Manya’, directed by Sameer Joshi, is based on the life of a teenage boy. Instead of focusing solely on the crime, the film tries to bring out the human story behind the boy’s circumstances. Sandesa Suwalka, Divya Sharma, Priyadarshini Pooja and Zoheb Farooqui will also be seen in important roles in the film. It is produced by ‘Mukta Arts’, Punit Aggarwal and Rahul Puri in association with ‘Slow Burn Entertainment’.

What did Subhash Ghai say on working with Shreyas Talpade?

Speaking on the anniversary of the film and Mukta Arts, Subhash Ghai discussed working with Talpade again and associating with the new generation of artistes. He said, ‘This milestone is a new and important beginning in the journey of Mukta Arts. We are going to work on many exciting projects and meaningful stories, the first of which is ‘Manya’. It was great to work with Shreyas after almost two decades. This reminded me of his talent and range of acting. Also, the entire excellent cast of the film has added depth to the story. The new and emerging actors have a lot of potential, which is clearly visible in the other characters of this film. I am eagerly waiting for you all to see this journey of ‘Manya’ from our eyes.

Apart from ‘Manya’, Subhash Ghai is working on ‘Khalnayak Returns’ with actor Sanjay Dutt and a courtroom drama with Anil Kapoor.

Why doesn’t Subhash Ghai watch his films?

In Arbaaz Khan’s podcast, Subhash Ghai had told why he does not watch his films. Subhash said, ‘Truly believe that whenever my film is released, premiered and those films become hits, I have never seen those films. I don’t watch many of my old films because I don’t want to be attached to their memories… for me it is a film. What I am doing today. What do I have in this present? It is not only relevant to me, but I also enjoy it. Many people enjoy living in the past. I feel that there is a present and how can I make this present better.
