The film ‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’, being made under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, is creating buzz at the box office even before its release. There is a continuous increase in the advance bookings of this mythological film starring stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol. According to trade tracker Sacnilc, as of 11:42 am on October 23, 2026, the film had collected a gross of Rs 8.27 crore including block seats, while after removing block seats the figure stood at Rs 6.25 crore. So far, more than 1.47 lakh tickets have been sold for the film in 3,964 shows. These figures of advance booking have increased the expectations regarding the opening of the film.
Ticket sales remained strong even without block seats
The most important thing about the advance booking of ‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’ is that the increase in ticket sales is not only due to blocked seats. According to the report, the film’s gross collection including block seats increased by 52 per cent to Rs 8.27 crore, while excluding block seats the earnings jumped by 73 per cent. This figure increased from Rs 3.61 crore to Rs 6.25 crore. At the same time, the share of block seats in the total gross decreased from about 34 percent to 24 percent. This indicates that the contribution of actual purchases by the audience in the advance booking of the film is increasing.
More than 1.47 lakh tickets sold in 3,964 shows
The number of shows during the advance booking of the film increased by about 12 per cent, while the total ticket bookings, including block seats, recorded a jump of 58 per cent. Due to this, the average number of tickets sold per show increased from 26 to 37. However, till now there is no information about any tracked show being completely housefull. This means that the audience still has enough options to buy tickets. In the coming days, the booking figures may increase further if theaters increase the number of shows and screen allocation.
Audience showing interest in IMAX and 4DX
According to the report, by Thursday night the advance booking of the film in major multiplex chains like PVR INOX and Cinepolis had crossed the 50 thousand tickets mark. Initial interest has been particularly strong in premium large screen formats like IMAX and 4DX. At the same time, ticket sales on normal multiplex screens are still gaining momentum. Further bookings for the film will also depend on how quickly theaters finalize their show schedules and number of screens across the country. Earlier there were reports of delay in finalizing the schedule due to revenue sharing dispute between distributors and theater owners.
How difficult is the target of opening Rs 70 crore?
The target of an opening of Rs 70 crore in India for the film is being discussed in the trade circles. However, this is not considered easy to achieve. The film, which is scheduled to release on November 5, will not get full benefit of the national holiday on its opening day as it falls on Thursday. According to the report, an opening of Rs 60 crore in India can also prove to be a strong start for the film. At the same time, the paid preview scheduled a day before the release i.e. on November 4 is also expected to boost the initial earnings. According to trade estimates, advance bookings may see the biggest increase in the last week before the release.
Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Ram, Yash will play the role of Ravana.
This epic film by Nitesh Tiwari will see Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi playing the role of Mata Sita, Ravi Dubey playing the role of Laxman, Yash Ravana and Sunny Deol playing the role of Lord Hanuman. There is curiosity among the audience about this film based on Valmiki’s ancient Ramayana. Now it has to be seen how the initial surge in advance bookings translates into box office collections after release and whether the film is able to achieve the big targets being set for its opening or not.
