Ananya Pandey and Lakshya’s new film ‘Chand Mera Dil’ was released in theaters on 22 May. Post release, this romantic drama received mixed reviews from the audience and it seems that this has affected the film’s box office as well. The film is finding it very difficult to gain momentum in its first week in theatres, due to which it is not showing any significant increase in earnings. The magic of Chand Mera Dil did not work even on the 5th day.
According to the latest report of Sacnilk, ‘Chand Mera Dil’ has collected only Rs 2.10 crore on the 5th day of its release i.e. its first Tuesday. There was a slight decline in the film’s collection on Monday and it earned Rs 2.25 crore, but there was no increase in Tuesday’s collection. ‘Chand Mera Dil’ had collected Rs 3 crore on its opening day. The film’s highest single day collection was on Sunday, when it earned Rs 4.25 crore. With this, the total India gross collection of the film has become 18.16 crores and the total India net collection has become 15.35 crores.
Earning of ‘Chand Mera Dil’ was better than ‘Ek Din’
The performance of ‘Chand Mera Dil’ has been much less than last year’s film ‘Sayara’, which had earned Rs 172.75 crore in its first week. ‘Sayara’ broke many records as soon as it was released and has been included in the list of the highest-grossing romantic films of Indian cinema so far. However, the film ‘Ek Din’ released this year, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi. Compared to its collection, the performance of ‘Chand Mera Dil’ has still been better.

The story of ‘Chand Mera Dil’ revolves around two characters who meet during their college days in Hyderabad. They fall in love with each other and later have to face trouble due to unwanted pregnancy. The girl decides to keep the child and the two get married. However, due to pressure and disappointment, many difficulties start appearing in their relationship. A quarrel eventually turns violent, becoming a turning point in the story and the main conflict of the film.
