Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan revealed the name of that film, which he still regrets not doing. Varun was offered a thriller film 8 years ago, in which Kangana Ranaut was to be seen with him. After its release, this film was a hit at the box office and also won the National Award. This film is ‘Andhadhun’, in which Kangana Ranaut was going to be seen in the lead role with Varun Dhawan.

Varun Dhawan still regrets rejecting Andhadhun

Varun Dhawan has now revealed after years that Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte starrer thriller ‘Andhadhun’ (2018) was offered to him earlier. He was going to work with Kangana Ranaut in this film, but he could not do this film due to date problems and Kangana was also not seen in Andhadhun along with him. Varun says that even today he regrets not being able to do this film.

Why couldn’t Varun Dhawan do Andhadhun?

Varun Dhawan talks about ‘Andhadhun’ in conversation with Tanmay Bhatt. When Varun was asked to name any film which he rejected and later became a critical and commercial hit and even today he regrets not doing it, Varun replied – ‘I think one good film which I refused and later proved to be a huge hit, was Andhadhun. I was busy shooting some other film at that time, due to which I could not do that film. Its original cast included me and Kangana Ranaut.

Let us tell you, after the exit of Varun Dhawan and Kangana Ranaut, Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu played the lead roles in this film. This crime thriller by Sriram Raghavan received a tremendous response from the audience after its release and was one of the most successful films of the year. Made for Rs 32 crore, this film collected more than Rs 440 crore at the box office and also won three National Awards. The story of the film revolves around Akash, a musician who is obsessed with going blind. But, he gets into big trouble when he witnesses a murder taking place. The film received three National Awards for Best Hindi Film, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.
