This film is ‘Obsession’, which has been released in theaters on 15 May 2026 i.e. 4 days in advance. This is a 1 hour 48 minute R rated horror-thriller, directed by YouTuber turned filmmaker Curry Baker and written by Curry himself. The film stars Michael Johnston and Andy Navarrete in lead roles. Talking about the story of the film, it is based on the theme of ‘The Monkey’s Paw’, where a boy breaks a magical toy named ‘One Wish Willow’ to get his crush and his wish is also fulfilled. But, love soon turns into obsession and stalking, which takes her life into a dark abyss.

Focus Features bought this film for about $15 million after seeing it at TIFF 2025. Despite the low budget and new cast, the film received a lot of praise from the audience and on the basis of word of mouth, it surprised everyone by collecting $17.2 million in the US in the opening weekend itself. It has collected $24.8 million worldwide.
