If you are thinking of buying a new car in a budget of Rs 5 lakh, then there is good news for you. Renault India has launched a new updated model of its popular hatchback Renault Kwid. Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹ 4.53 lakh. This time, not much change has been made in the design of the car, but the company has made its safety and features better than before. The new Kwid will now directly challenge cars like Maruti Alto K10, Maruti Celerio, Maruti S-Presso and Tata Tiago.
The biggest feature of the new Renault Kwid is its safety. Now this car has been provided with 6 airbags, which were not available earlier. This update is considered to be a big relief for the customers in the budget segment. Apart from this, new Renault logo and new designed wheels have also been given in the car.
There was no shortage left in the features too
Like before, the new Kwid has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, features like digital instrument cluster, rear parking camera, remote keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVM, rear power window, LED tail lights and roof rails are also provided. The car gets 184mm of ground clearance and 279 liters of boot space, making it a good option for both city and bad roads.
There was no change in the engine
The new Renault Kwid has the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 67bhp power and 91Nm torque. This engine is available with both 5-speed manual (MT) and AMT gearbox options. For customers who want the CNG option, the company is also offering official CNG retrofitment facility for ₹70,449.
New Kwid will be available in only two variants
The company has launched the new Kwid in two variants, Evolution and Climber. Its starting price is ₹4.53 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Climber variant has been priced at ₹5.15 lakh. However, on online booking, Climber MT variant can be purchased for ₹ 4.99 lakh and AMT variant for ₹ 5.46 lakh.
