Renault India on Monday informed that its new 2026 Renault Duster SUV has received a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program i.e. BNCAP, which makes it a strong option with safety credentials. According to the company, the new Duster delivered the best performance in both adult and child occupant protection categories. In adult protection, it got 30.49 out of 32, while in child protection it got 45 out of 49. The company’s engineering head V Vikraman said that this is the result of strong engineering and large-scale testing process. He said that the Duster was tested at multiple levels keeping in mind the Indian road conditions, including advanced simulation, physical mileage test and system-level validation. The ex-showroom price of the new 2026 Renault Duster starts at ₹ 10,49,000.
Quality certified engineering and testing processes
According to the news, Vikraman said that the body structure, safety system, restraint calibration and electronic features of the vehicle have been designed and tested in such a way that all the systems together provide maximum safety. According to him, BNCAP’s 5-star rating completely attests to the quality and rigor of the engineering and testing process. This crash test was conducted with the new Duster weighing 1621 kg.
