UPPCL i.e. Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has started informing the people.

From June 2026, the bill for the meter will change from prepaid to postpaid in the state. The new bill will be received through UPPCL app, SMS and WhatsApp. In such a situation, the question in the minds of many people is that where will the previous balance of the recharged prepaid meter go? Will this balance be adjusted in the bill or not? Many users on social media have asked questions regarding this.

What will happen to the previous balance of prepaid meter?

UPPCL has started the process of converting prepaid meters to postpaid. During this time, the previous balance of the prepaid consumer will be adjusted in the new postpaid bill. If there is still access balance left in the consumer’s prepaid meter after the bill, the same will be adjusted in the next bill. Users can check the previous balance of prepaid meter by logging in to UPPCL’s app using their consumer number.

The previous balance of the prepaid meter will be visible to the consumer as credit balance. Users can receive the bill for the month of May in the first week of June. In this, consumers will be able to see both the previous credit balance and usage. The credit balance will be automatically adjusted in the generated bill.
