Chennai Super Kings: Chennai Super Kings have suffered a major setback amid IPL 2026, which has put the team management in tension. The team’s emerging all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh has been ruled out of the remaining season due to injury. Chennai Super Kings gave this information by issuing an official statement. Chennai Super Kings said in an official statement that Ramakrishna Ghosh has suffered a fracture in his right leg. He suffered this injury during the match played against Mumbai Indians on May 2 in Chepauk. Due to this serious injury, he will no longer be able to participate in the remaining matches of IPL 2026.
This 28-year-old all-rounder from Maharashtra had made his IPL debut in the last match against Mumbai. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 auction and was also retained for the 2026 season. However, his first season remained incomplete due to injury soon after his debut.
There was a sensation in Vijay Hazare Trophy
Ramakrishna Ghosh is known for his brilliant performances in domestic cricket. Last year, he created history by taking 7 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh and became one of the few players to do so. In that match, he took 7 wickets for 42 runs in 9.4 overs. Apart from this, he also proved his batting ability by playing an explosive inning of 64 runs in 27 balls against Mumbai. After this injury, Chennai Super Kings have suffered a big blow in the crucial phase of the season, as the team will now have to move forward without a balanced all-round option.
Many players out one after the other
Chennai Super Kings suffered a major blow even before the start of this season when Nathan Ellis was ruled out of the entire tournament. After this, fast bowler Khalil Ahmed had to be out due to injury. The team’s troubles had not subsided yet, even the ace batsman Ayush Mhatre had to leave CSK in the middle of the season. Now Ramakrishna Ghosh is out of IPL 2026 after playing just one match.
