Raymond Group Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Hari Singhaniyan has been injured in a speedboat accident in Maldives. His spokesperson said on Friday that he has suffered minor injuries and is currently recovering in Mumbai. According to media reports, this accident happened in the early hours of Friday near V Felidhoo in Maldives, where a speedboat carrying tourists suddenly overturned. Singhania was also in the same boat and was rescued safely. However, two Indian citizens are reported missing in this accident, including rally driver Hari Singh. Search operation is going on to find him.

Five people were swept into the sea during the accident

According to the news, confirming the incident, the spokesperson said that it was an unfortunate accident in which Gautam Singhania suffered minor injuries. He is recovering under proper care in Mumbai. He further said that he wishes all the affected people to be safe and expressed his gratitude for the well wishes. According to reports, a total of seven people were on board the speedboat, including two women from the United Kingdom and Russia and five men from India. According to police, five people were swept into the sea during the accident, including a Russian woman and four Indian men.

Was appointed executive chairman last year

Gautam Hari Singhania was appointed executive chairman of apparel company Raymond Lifestyle last year. The shareholders of the company had approved the appointment proposal. According to the Companies Act 2013, a particular resolution must be passed by majority, that is, at least 75 percent of the members must vote in its favor. Voting through online mode for the AGM was concluded on Wednesday. Raymond Lifestyle spokesperson said that the shareholders of Raymond Lifestyle have shown full confidence and elected Gautam Hari Singhania as the Chairman of the company and Sunil Kataria as the Managing Director.
