Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has launched three new services of the Postal Department, the aim of which is to ensure fast, secure and timely delivery. With these services, important documents and parcels can now be delivered faster than ever.
What are the new services?
The Postal Department has started three new services like 24 Speed Post, 24 Speed Post Parcel and 48 Speed Post. Next day delivery will be guaranteed under 24 Speed Post and 24 Speed Post Parcel. A target has been set to deliver the parcel within two days through 48 speed posts. The objective of these services is to provide a solid time guarantee to the customers.
You will get money back in case of delay
The biggest feature of these new services is the money-back guarantee. If the postal department is not able to deliver the parcel or document within the stipulated time, then the customers will be refunded their money. This will increase both the accountability and trust of the postal department.
Special attention to security and tracking
In the new services, OTP based system has been implemented to make the delivery of parcels more secure. That means the parcel will be received only when the customer gives the OTP. Apart from this, customers will continue to get every update through SMS alerts and online tracking, which will provide complete information about the parcel.
Now delivery will be done on Sunday also
This is the first time that delivery will be done in Speed Post service even on Sundays and public holidays. This service will remain operational throughout the year except for three national holidays of 26 January, 15 August and 2 October. This will provide more convenience to the customers.
Businessmen will also benefit
These new services will be beneficial not only for the common people but also for small businessmen and e-commerce companies. It will provide facilities like free bulk pickup, payment later facility and centralized billing, which will make doing business easier.
Logistics sector will get strength
This initiative of the Postal Department is being considered a big step towards strengthening India’s logistics system. This will increase competition in express delivery services and customers will get better options.
