Country A total decline of Rs 35,439.36 crore was recorded in the market cap of 7 companies out of the 10 largest companies of India last week. Whereas, the market cap of the remaining 3 companies increased by a total of Rs 22,113.41. Let us tell you that due to the Christmas holiday last week, the domestic stock market was traded only for 4 days. During this period, a slight increase of 112.09 points (0.13 percent) was seen in BSE’s benchmark index Sensex. Last week, the biggest decline in the market cap of State Bank of India (SBI) was recorded. On the other hand, HDFC Bank’s market cap increased the most.

Decline in market cap of these companies

Apart from SBI, valuations of Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) declined last week. Whereas an increase was seen in the market cap of HDFC Bank, Infosys and Bharti Airtel.

State Bank of India suffered the biggest loss

During this period, the market cap of State Bank of India declined the most by Rs 12,692.1 crore and it fell to Rs 8,92,046.88 crore. The valuation of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 8254.81 crore to Rs 21,09,712.48 crore. Bajaj Finance’s market cap suffered a loss of Rs 5102.43 crore and fell to Rs 6,22,124.01 crore. Larsen & Toubro’s market cap declined by Rs 4002.94 crore to Rs 5,56,436.22 crore. The market cap of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 2571.39 crore to reach Rs 9,65,669.15 crore. Market cap of LIC declined by Rs 1802.62 crore to Rs 5,37,403.43 crore and valuation of TCS declined by Rs 1013.07 crore to Rs 11,86,660.34 crore.

HDFC Bank investors earned money

However, the market cap of HDFC Bank increased by Rs 10,126.81 crore to Rs 15,26,765.44 crore during this period. The market cap of Infosys increased by Rs 6626.62 crore and reached Rs 6,87,818.84 crore. Apart from these, the market cap of Bharti Airtel also increased by Rs 5359.98 crore to reach Rs 12,00,692.32 crore. Let us tell you that when the market cap of a company falls, its investors suffer losses. Similarly, when the market cap of a company increases, its investors benefit.
