Bank Holidays in December 2025: There will be a total of 19 days of bank holidays in different states of the country in December this year. Apart from the holidays of 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays, there will be a total of 13 holidays of local festivals in different states in December 2025. Here we will know on which day there will be bank holiday in your state.

There will be holidays for 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays in December.

In December 2025, there will be a holiday for all banks in the country on 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th due to Sunday. Apart from this, 13th December will be the second Saturday of the month and 27th December will be the fourth Saturday of the month, due to which all banks will remain closed across the country. Apart from these, due to different local festivals in different states of the country, there will be bank holidays on 1, 3, 12, 18, 19, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30 and 31 December.

When will banks remain closed in your state?

  • December 1 – All banks will remain closed in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland on the occasion of State Inauguration Day and Indigenous Faith Day.
  • 3 December- The festival of St. Francis Xavier will be celebrated in Goa. On this big occasion, all the banks of Goa will remain closed on 3rd December.
  • December 12- All banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on the occasion of the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma.
  • December 18- All banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on the occasion of the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.
  • 19th December- All banks in Goa will remain closed on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.
  • 20 December- All banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Losung/Namsung.
  • 22 December- All banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Losung/Namsung.
  • December 24- All banks will remain closed in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya on the occasion of Christmas Eve.
  • 25 December- On the occasion of Christmas, there will be a holiday for all banks in the entire country.
  • 26 December- All banks will remain closed for Christmas celebrations in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
  • 27 December- All banks will remain closed in Nagaland for Christmas celebrations.
  • December 30- There will be a holiday for all banks in Meghalaya on the occasion of the death anniversary of U Kiang Nangbah.
  • December 31- All banks will remain closed in Mizoram and Manipur on the occasion of New Year’s Eve/Imoinu Iratpa.

Banks will remain closed for 5 consecutive days in these states

There will be long bank holidays in the northeastern states in December. There will be bank holiday for 5 consecutive days in Mizoram and Nagaland on 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 December. Apart from this, banks will remain closed for 5 consecutive days in Meghalaya on 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 December. Banks will open on 29th and then there will be a bank holiday once again on 30th. 27th December will be the fourth Saturday of the month and 28th December will be a Sunday holiday. Whereas the rest of the days will be bank holidays on local festivals and occasions.
