The heart-wrenching accident that happened in Delhi is a clear result of greed, carelessness and bribery. A massive fire broke out in a bed and breakfast hotel in Haujrani near Malviya Nagar, killing 21 people and seriously injuring more than 40 people. Among those killed were 11 foreign nationals. Lavkesh Bajaj, the owner of this hotel named Flourish Stay, was arrested. It was learned that when the hotel was on fire, the neighbors were busy saving the people trapped in the fire, at that time the hotel owner passed by in his car but due to fear he did not stop. The hotel manager is absconding.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta went to the hospital and met the injured, it has been announced to provide assistance of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of those who died. The seriously injured will be given Rs 5 lakh each. Due to the fire, electricity was cut, the main gate was locked, people could not come out, people tried to get out through the windows but the glass windows were sealed. People somehow broke the windows, people jumped from the second and third floors, a mother jumped from the third floor holding her son close to her chest. At the time of this accident, the people nearby acted like angels. Whatever was found, as per understanding, tried to save the trapped people. There was a mattress shop nearby, the shopkeeper spread all the mattresses in the street so that people could jump on top of them.
The stories of the families who have suffered a mountain of sorrow are hair-raising. Delhi Minister Ashish Sood said, those who were negligent will not be spared, the entire incident will be investigated by a magistrate. The truth is that there is no need to investigate this matter because the reality is known to every person in the area. The family of Lavkesh Bajaj, owner of Flourish Stay Hotel, has seven such hotels and guest houses in this area, but these people do not have any license to run the hotel, there is no NOC from the fire service, and no safety rules were followed.
Now the question is that when there is nothing then how are hotels running without license. The answer to this question is that all such hotels running in this area have taken home stay license from the Delhi government. The owner of Flourish Stay Hotel had permission to run a 6-room home stay but he converted it into a five-storey, 25-room hotel. Two rooms were also made in the basement and five rooms each were prepared on the upper floors. In this area with dense population and narrow streets, there are many houses which have been converted into hotels. And all of them are wells of death like this.
Due to greed, negligence and corruption, buildings were constructed illegally, the Municipal Commissioner did not know, the guest house started running, the Inspection Committee did not know. Showed 5 rooms on paper and made 25 rooms. No one paid any attention to this. There is no arrangement for fire protection, no windows, no ventilation. The well of death was ready but the fire department did not audit. Even if foreign nationals were staying in illegal guesthouses, the police never checked. Today all the nearby guest houses and hotels pulled down the shutters of their properties and ran away.
This means clearly that everyone has committed the wrongdoing and the officers are complicit in it. The 21 people who lost their lives will not come back, but the officers who ate heavy food to keep their eyes closed should be fully accounted for. If action is still not taken then no one will be able to stop such an accident from happening again.
Will Mamta’s condition be like that of Uddhav Thackeray?
Mamta Banerjee got a big shock. Trinamool Congress, the party of which she was the leader for 28 years, slipped out of her hands like sand slipping from her fist. Of the 80 MLAs who won on Mamata’s name and money, sixty rebelled against their sister. The MLA whom Mamata Banerjee had expelled from the party two days ago, was accepted by more than two-thirds of the Trinamool Congress MLAs as their leader. Ritabrata Banerjee gave a letter of support from the MLAs to the Speaker and the Speaker recognized Ritabrata as the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly. Ritabrata Banerjee claimed that the party has not broken and he is the real leader of the Trinamool Congress Legislature Party.
Along with Ritabrata, those MLAs who were close to Mamata Banerjee were also seen today. Today everyone said that they have no complaint against Mamata Banerjee but they will not accept Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee as their leader at any cost because the party’s misfortune in the elections was because of Abhishek. Now the question is what will Mamata do? Why did the rebel group call him a guide? Will Mamata marginalize her nephew to save the party? Will there be a formal split of Trinamool Congress? To whom will the party name and election symbol go? Will Mamata face the same fate as Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena?
Presidents of municipal corporations, city councils and panchayat leaders in Bengal have also distanced themselves from the Trinamool Congress. More than a hundred councilors have left the party. At some places, leaders have handed over party offices to BJP, some leaders have started returning Katmani, Trinamool Congress offices have been locked. All these are signs of breakdown in the party. That is why I asked whether Mamata’s condition would also be like that of Uddhav Thackeray.
Catch the agents of Bangladeshi infiltrators also
Gujarat Police conducted an overnight operation under Operation Delta Hunt in several cities including Ahmedabad, Alawa, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bharuch and Navsari. More than 700 people were detained in 24 hours. The identity of more than 200 of these infiltrators was confirmed. The people caught admitted that they were Bangladeshi. Identity cards of Bangladesh have also been found with these people. Investigation is being done about the remaining people. Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi said that more than 6 thousand people are being tested across Gujarat. 362 Bangladeshi infiltrators have been identified. Harsh Sanghvi said that the infiltrators will be sent back but legal action will also be taken against those who gave shelter to the infiltrators.
The question is, where did the Bangladeshis who were caught in Gujarat come from? how to come? There is evidence that all of them came through West Bengal, there was Mamata Banerjee’s government, it was easy to make Aadhaar card, get passport and PAN card in Bengal. These people coming from Bangladesh come through the mafia and pay a good amount of money to the brokers. These agents prepare documents and transport infiltrators across the country, taking money for every work. Therefore, action should be taken against the Bangladeshis as well as the network of these agents. Initiative should be taken to confiscate their property, sell it and return it to the Bangladeshis themselves.
These infiltrators are spread all over the country. They earn money from India and send it to Bangladesh, violate the rights of our citizens and take advantage of government schemes. This cycle will stop only when the agents responsible for bringing them are caught. (Rajat Sharma)
