Tata Motors on Friday launched the 2026 PUNCH EV at a starting price of ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom). 2026 Tata PUNCH EV Facelift car can travel up to 468 kilometers on full charge. Tata Motors has launched the new Punch EV in India with price changes and a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. Under the BaaS model, buyers can choose a lower starting price and pay for battery charging separately, making the new Punch even more affordable than before. Launched in 2026, this Tata Punch EV is part of the company’s strategy to increase its strong presence in the compact electric SUV segment.
New 2026 Tata Punch EV now with bigger 40 kWh battery
A new option of 40 kWh battery pack has now been introduced in the 2026 Tata Punch EV. This larger battery gives an ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km, while in actual C75 conditions its range is said to be around 355 km.
Additionally, an existing 30 kWh battery pack is also available, giving a real-world range of over 300 km. With this update, the Tata Punch EV facelift 2026 offers better range options for both urban driving and occasional highway trips.

Faster charging and better efficiency
The charging capability in the new Punch has been improved. It supports 65 kW DC fast charging and the battery charges from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. According to the company, 15 minutes of charging can provide a range of about 135 km.
The battery uses Prismatic LFP cells and comes with a lifetime, unlimited kilometer warranty. Tata has improved the e-Drive calibration and algorithm optimization to increase efficiency and make the driving experience smoother.
Performance and practicality
The 2026 Tata Punch EV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 9 seconds. It has multiple drive modes and four levels of regenerative braking, which can be controlled with paddle shifters. Despite being compact, this electric SUV maintains its SUV styling, with a ground clearance of 195 mm and water wading capacity of up to 450 mm. These features make it very practical for Indian road conditions.
