Stock Market Today 12 May, 2026: On Tuesday, once again the domestic stock market started trading in the red with a decline. On the second day of the week, BSE Sensex opened 326.89 points (0.43%) lower at 75,688.39 points. On the other hand, NSE’s Nifty 50 index also fell by 93.25 points (0.39%) and started trading at 23,722.60 points. A big fall is being seen in IT shares on Tuesday. Let us tell you that on Monday there was a huge loss in the domestic stock market. Yesterday, BSE Sensex closed at 76,015.28 points with a huge loss of 1312.91 points (1.70 per cent) and Nifty closed at 23,815.85 points with a loss of 360.30 points (1.49 per cent).
Only 13 out of 50 Nifty stocks opened with gains.
On Tuesday, shares of only 6 out of 30 Sensex companies opened in the green with gains and shares of all the remaining 24 companies opened in the red with a decline. On the other hand, out of 50 Nifty 50, shares of only 13 companies opened with a rise in the green mark and the shares of the remaining 36 companies started trading with a decline in the red mark, while the shares of 1 company opened without any change. Shares of Tata Steel, included among the Sensex companies, opened today with the highest gain of 0.40 percent. Whereas, Infosys shares opened with maximum fall of 2.54 percent today.
SBI, Reliance made positive start
Talking about the rest of the Sensex shares, today SBI shares opened with a rise of 0.26 percent, Reliance Industries 0.21 percent, Bharti Airtel 0.07 percent, Sun Pharma 0.03 percent and NTPC 0.03 percent.
Big fall in IT shares
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra shares gained 2.34 per cent, TCS 1.87 per cent, HCL Tech 1.65 per cent, HDFC Bank 0.82 per cent, Asian Paints 0.78 per cent, Bajaj Finserv 0.75 per cent, Bajaj Finance 0.71 per cent, ICICI Bank 0.64 per cent, Titan 0.63 per cent, Adani Ports 0.51 per cent, ITC 0.44 percent, Power Grid 0.40 percent, Maruti Suzuki 0.37 percent, Trent 0.24 percent, Hindustan Unilever 0.21 percent, L&T 0.21 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.20 percent, Indigo 0.15 percent, UltraTech Cement 0.14 percent, Axis Bank 0.13 percent, BEL 0.09 percent, Mahindra & Shares of Mahindra started trading with a loss of 0.08 per cent and Eternal 0.06 per cent.
