Tim Cook Steps Down: Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, one of the world’s largest technology giants, has announced his resignation from his post. Now in his place John Ternes will take over the responsibility of Chief Executive Officer of Apple. Tim Cook was fulfilling this important responsibility for 15 years and now John Ternes is going to take this responsibility. John Ternes is currently the Chief of Hardware Engineering of Apple and will take over as Apple’s CEO on September 1. Tim Cook is 65 years old and after this new change, Tim Cook will assume the role of executive chairman from September 1 and will remain associated with the company.

Tim Cook became the CEO of the company in 2011 after the departure of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and has been playing the role of chief executive of the company for 15 years. During his tenure, the Apple company touched the heights of success and the market valuation of the company reached 4 trillion dollars and Apple also came to the throne of the world’s largest technology company. Now the responsibility of the company has fallen on John Ternes and Apple’s Board of Directors has decided to hand over the reins of the company to John after the departure of Tim Cook.
Tim Cook joined Apple in 1998 as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations. From 2005 to 2011, Tim Cook worked as the Chief Operating Officer of the company. During this time, he played the biggest role in revolutionizing its supply chain and strengthened the supply chain of products like iPhone, MacBook, iPad and iPod. After this, he became the CEO after Steve Jobs in August 2011. Under his 15 years of leadership, Apple has achieved unprecedented growth.
