
UP Budget 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday presented a budget of Rs 9,12,696.35 crore for the financial year 2026-27. This is the biggest budget of the state so far. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, while presenting the budget when the House proceedings began at 11 am, said that the budget of Rs 9,12,696.3 crore presented for the financial year 2026-27 is about 12.2 percent more than the previous budget. He said that the capital outlay in this budget is 19.5 percent. As per the recommendations of the 16th Central Finance Commission, the limit of fiscal deficit has been kept at 3 percent in the financial year 2026-27, this will remain in force till the financial year 2030-31. The UP government has made a provision of Rs 34,468 crore for roads and bridges in its budget.

- A provision of Rs 34,468 crore is proposed for the construction, widening and maintenance of roads and bridges.
- A provision of Rs 400 crore is proposed for widening/strengthening/construction of roads for the development of North-South Corridor in the state.
- A provision of Rs 4808 crore is proposed for the construction of bridges and Rs 1700 crore for the construction of rail over bridge/under bridge in the state.
- A provision of Rs 3700 crore is proposed for widening/strengthening of state/major/other district roads.
- A provision of Rs 3000 crore for maintenance of roads and Rs 3000 crore for construction/widening/strengthening of roads is proposed from the State Road Fund.
- To ease the movement of city residents, a provision of Rs 1500 crore is proposed for construction of bypasses and ring roads of cities and flyovers at intersections etc.
- A provision of Rs 1000 crore is proposed for road widening/strengthening/construction work for the industrial/logistics park.
Provision of Rs 27,103 crore for infrastructure and industrial development schemes
The UP government has announced a budget of Rs 27,103 crore for infrastructure and industrial development schemes in the budget presented for the financial year 2026-27, which is 13 percent more than the year 2025-2026. A provision of Rs 3822 crore is proposed for schemes related to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, which is 19 percent more than the year 2025-2026. Referring to the allocation made under major heads, UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said, “The allocation made for education and medical is 12.4 and 6 percent of the total budget respectively. Apart from this, the amount allocated for agriculture and allied services is 9 percent of the total budget. He said that the state government is fully committed to financial management and debt control.
