IndiGo Hikes Ticket Price: The country’s largest airline company Indigo has announced an increase in the prices of all its domestic and international flight tickets. The company gave this information on Friday. The airline company said that the fares are being increased due to the sharp increase in fuel prices. Indigo has increased flight ticket prices from Rs 425 to Rs 2300, which will be recovered from passengers as fuel charge. Indigo said that the new prices of flight tickets will be applicable from March 14, 2026. Indigo gave this information by issuing a press release on Friday.

Fuel charge will be applicable on new bookings made from March 14

Indigo said that this step has been taken in view of the huge increase in fuel prices due to the ongoing geopolitical tension in the Middle East. According to IATA’s ‘Jet Fuel Monitor’, fuel prices in the region have increased by more than 85%. The company said that aviation turbine fuel (ATF) forms a major part of the operating expenses of airlines. This sudden and huge increase will have a significant impact on the expenses and networks of all airlines, including IndiGo. The company said, “To mitigate the full impact of this huge increase in fuel prices, it is necessary to make a significant change in the fares, but keeping in mind the burden on the customers, IndiGo has implemented a relatively low amount as ‘fuel charge’.” “With effect from 00:01 hrs on March 14, 2026, fuel charges will be levied along with the fare on all new bookings for IndiGo flights.”

How much fuel charge will be charged for flights in which region?

Indigo has fixed Rs 425 as fuel charge for all domestic flights traveling in India. Rs 425 will also be charged as fuel charge for countries falling in the Indian subcontinent like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Maldives. Indigo has fixed Rs 900 as fuel charge for flights to the Middle East, Rs 1800 for flights to South Asia and China, Rs 1800 for flights to Africa and West Asian countries and Rs 2300 as fuel charge for flights to European countries.
