Indian stock markets opened flat on Thursday as investors eyed the US Federal Reserve’s recent cut in interest rates for the third time. Sensex opened today at 84,456.75 with a gain of 65.48 points or 0.08%, while Nifty was seen trading at 25,743.90 with a fall of 14.70 points or 0.04%. Experts believe that due to the rate cut by the US Fed and the weekly expiry of the Sensex, there may be fluctuations in the market today.

Tata Steel

Tata Steel, with the approval of its board, has given green signal to the plan for capacity expansion of 4.8 metric tonnes per annum at Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL). Along with this, it has been decided to set up 0.7 MT Hot Rolled Pickling and Galvanizing Line (HRPGL) in Cold Rolling Complex at Tarapur, Maharashtra. Additionally, approval was also given to acquire 50.01% equity stake in Thriveni Pellets (TPPL) from Thriveni Earthmovers (TEMPL) for ₹636 crore.

Lloyds Metal and Energy

Lloyds Metal & Energy subsidiary Lloyds Global Resources (LGRF) has received board approval to acquire 50% equity stake in Nexus Holdco for $55 million. The move will strengthen the strategic cooperation with Surya Mines and its multiple mining projects and copper processing plants in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ashoka Buildcon and Purvankar

Adani-Ashoka-Akshay Joint Venture got a project worth ₹1,815.79 crore from BMC for Mithi River Development and Pollution Control Project. Meanwhile, Purvankar’s subsidiary Starworth Infrastructure got a turnkey construction work worth ₹509.52 crore for One Bengaluru luxury project Phase 1 in Bengaluru Rural district.

Petronet LNG

Petronet LNG has entered into an agreement for two term loans of ₹6,000 crore each from a consortium of SBI and Bank of Baroda, which will be used to finance the petrochemical project located at Dahej, Gujarat.
