Share Market Today, 16 February, 2026: Today the domestic stock market once again started trading in the red with a decline. On the first day of the week, on Monday, BSE Sensex opened with a fall of 146.36 points (0.18%) at 82,480.40 points. Similarly, NSE’s Nifty 50 index also started trading today at 25,423.60 points with a loss of 47.50 points (0.19%). Let us tell you that on Friday last week the market had closed the trading with a big fall. On Friday, Sensex opened with a fall of 1048.16 points (1.25%) at 82,626.76 points and Nifty opened with a fall of 336.10 points (1.30%) at 25,471.10 points.
Shares of 34 out of 50 companies of Nifty 50 opened in the red.
On Monday, shares of 15 out of 30 Sensex companies started trading in the green with gains, while shares of all the remaining 15 companies opened in the red with a decline. Similarly, out of 50 Nifty 50 stocks, only 16 companies opened in the green with a rise and shares of all the remaining 34 companies opened in the red with losses. Among the Sensex companies, shares of Tata Group’s IT company TCS opened today with the maximum increase of 1.03 percent and shares of Adani Ports opened today with the maximum decline of 1.07 percent.

Other Sensex companies today included Power Grid shares 0.71 percent, HCL Tech 0.57 percent, ITC 0.30 percent, NTPC 0.29 percent, Bajaj Finserv 0.27 percent, Asian Paints 0.27 percent, Tech Mahindra 0.21 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.17 percent, HDFC Bank 0.17 percent, Sun Pharma 0.10 percent, IndiGo. Shares of 0.09 percent, Hindustan Unilever, 0.09 percent Bajaj Finance and 0.01 percent Reliance Industries opened with a rise of 0.01 percent.
On the other hand, shares of ICICI Bank gained 0.94 per cent, Infosys 0.72 per cent, BEL 0.68 per cent, UltraTech Cement 0.64 per cent, Tata Steel 0.57 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.56 per cent, State Bank of India 0.52 per cent, Titan 0.51 per cent, L&T 0.48 per cent, Axis Bank 0.42 per cent, Maruti Shares of Suzuki 0.31 percent, Trent 0.29 percent, Bharti Airtel 0.24 percent and Eternal started trading with a fall of 0.02 percent.
