central Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav took a review meeting of officials at Rail Bhawan on Saturday. Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu was also present in this meeting. The Union Minister directed the officials to provide local cuisine of the respective region in Vande Bharat trains. Introducing local cuisine will greatly improve the traveller’s experience as the food served during the journey will reflect the culture and taste of the region. The facility of local cuisine starting with Vande Bharat will be gradually implemented in all trains in future.
Food is almost the same in Vande Bharat trains of the North
At present, almost the same food is provided to passengers traveling in Vande Bharat trains running in the north. However, Vande Bharat trains running in the south include local food like Idli, Vada, Kesari, Sambhar, Upma, Medu Vada, Pongal etc.
After the implementation of the new system, 5000 new IDs are being made every day.
The Union Minister also said that Indian Railways’ crackdown on train ticket booking through fake identities is yielding great results. With a strict system in place to establish the identity of users and detect fake IDs, around 5000 new user IDs are being created daily on the IRCTC website. Before the new reforms, the number of new user IDs created daily on the IRCTC website had reached around one lakh.
3.03 crore fake IRCTC accounts identified and deactivated
These efforts of Railways have helped Indian Railways in identifying and deactivating 3.03 crore fake accounts. Additionally, 2.7 crore user IDs have either been temporarily locked or marked for closure based on their suspicious activities. The Union Minister and the Minister of State directed the officials to ensure that the ticketing system is improved to a level where all passengers can easily book tickets through a genuine and authentic user ID.
