
Under the Chief Minister Women’s Employment Scheme, Bihar government will send an amount of Rs 10 thousand each to the accounts of 10 lakh Jeevika Didis by 14th December. Till now 1 crore 40 lakh women of the state have got the benefit of this scheme. Under this scheme, this amount is being given to economically empower the women of the state and promote their employment. The objective of the state government is to make women self-reliant and provide them economic strength through this scheme.

The government has ensured that all eligible women receive this amount in their bank accounts by December 14. The Chief Minister said that this scheme will prove helpful in improving the living standards of the women of the state, and will further strengthen their employment opportunities. This initiative is an important step of Bihar government towards the welfare and empowerment of women.
The aim is to make women financially self-reliant
Chief Minister Mahila Rojgar Yojana The main goal is to provide financial assistance to a woman from every family of the state to start employment of her choice. Under the scheme, as financial assistance, an amount of ₹ 10 thousand is given as first installment to one woman of each family for doing employment of her choice. After women start employment, additional financial assistance up to Rs 2 lakh will be assessed as per requirement. This initiative of Bihar government will not only empower women but will also boost the economy of the state.
Know what is the eligibility
‘Family’ under the scheme means husband, wife and their unmarried children. Unmarried adult women whose parents are not alive are considered as a nuclear family as per the scheme and benefits are provided as per the rules. All members (one woman from one family) associated with self-help groups in urban areas will be eligible for the benefits of this scheme. Before adding women who are currently not members of Self Help Groups in urban areas as members, the following has to be ensured keeping in mind the definition of family under the scheme –
- The age of the woman applying should be 18-60 years.
- The woman applying or her husband should not be in the category of income tax payer.
- The woman applying should not herself or her husband be in government service (regular/contract).
