Bengaluru is called the Silicon Valley of India. Big tech companies, high salary jobs and modern lifestyle attract people here. But for many young people coming to the city, this dream soon collides with reality. Recently, a post went viral on social media, in which it was told that despite having a monthly salary of ₹ 1.5 lakh, it is not easy to save in Bengaluru. This post has sparked a new debate about rising inflation and cost of living in the city.

A user shared his cousin’s experience on social media platform X. He told that his cousin had gone to Bengaluru for the job of software developer after graduation from Computer Science. He used to get a salary of around ₹ 1.5 lakh every month. The family thought his life would now become comfortable, but the expense of living in the city soon revealed the truth.

Rent takes a big part of the income

According to the post, the rent for a small apartment near the office was around ₹ 36 thousand per month. Apart from this, ₹ 13 thousand to ₹ 15 thousand were spent every month on food and grocery. Due to heavy traffic in the city, one had to use cab or auto every day, which cost around ₹ 6 thousand to ₹ 8 thousand. If expenses like eating out, coffee or weekend outings are added, then ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 more would be spent every month.

Even small expenses increase the burden

Apart from these big expenses, there are also some expenses which people often do not pay attention to. Like online subscriptions, medical expenses, unexpected bills and sending money home. After all these expenses, by the end of the month the savings remained barely ₹ 15 thousand to ₹ 20 thousand.

People gave suggestions to reduce expenses

After this post went viral, many people also gave their opinions. Some users said that if a house is bought a little away from the office and near the metro, then the rent can be much lower. Many people believe that people try to live very close to the office, where due to high demand the rent also increases a lot.

truth of big cities

After this discussion, many people agreed that big salary in big cities does not always mean more savings. Due to expensive rent, transport and lifestyle expenses, savings remain limited even after good earnings.
