On this serious situation, the country’s leading oil companies Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) have broken their silence and have issued a very important information for the countrymen.
Both HPCL and BPCL have made it clear by tweeting that the news of shortage of petrol and diesel going on social media is completely baseless and wrong. Companies say that there is sufficient stock of fuel available in the country.
It is often seen that news of increasing tension in the Middle East or fluctuations in the international market is distorted and presented, due to which the general public goes into panic and starts buying more petrol and diesel. The companies have clarified that the supply chain is completely normal and there has been no interruption in the supply of oil.

The companies have made a special request to the citizens not to crowd the petrol pumps unnecessarily due to rumours. When thousands of people simultaneously reach the pumps to fill more oil than required, a situation like artificial shortage arises, which is difficult to handle. BPCL said in its statement that we are committed to ensuring fuel without any interruption to all customers. Please rely only on information from official sources.

The government and oil companies are completely confident about India’s energy security. HPCL has assured that the stock of petroleum products is being maintained across the country. This means that even if a small crisis occurs at the international level, India has adequate backup for the next several days/weeks.
