middle-east In view of the shortage of LPG across the country amidst tension, the government is making many types of rules. The government is making these new rules for the convenience of common consumers. Among these rules, the rule regarding OTP is very important and necessary. Under the new rules, customers will not get delivery of LPG cylinders without providing OTP. This rule is now gradually being implemented in the entire country. In big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, many companies are already delivering LPG cylinders through OTP system. Let us know how this new rule will benefit common customers?

Why is the OTP rule being implemented?

The government is implementing new rules across the country to stop fake delivery, hoarding and black marketing of LPG cylinders. Under the new rule, an OTP will be sent to the customers’ registered mobile number at the time of delivery. Customers will have to tell this OTP to the gas agency employee who comes to give delivery. After giving the OTP, the employee will enter it in his system, after which the LPG cylinder will be delivered to you. If you do not give OTP to the employee, you will not be given gas. Apart from this, if any employee makes delivery without entering OTP in his system then it will not be considered as successful delivery. This OTP is called Delivery Authentication Code. This OTP i.e. Delivery Authentication Code, ensures that the employee has delivered the LPG cylinder to the customer.

What will be the benefit to common customers?

Actually, customer complaints were being received from many places in the country. According to the customers, the gas agency employees used to show delivery without giving delivery and used to hoard the cylinders and sell them in black. But, after the introduction of OTP rule, employees will not be able to do this kind of trick. Unless they take OTP from the customer and enter it into their system, their delivery will not be considered successful. In such a situation, the employees will have to enter the OTP in their system to show the successful delivery and after entering the OTP, they will have to deliver to the right customer.
