Last year was very bad for the AC industry
Earlier this month, Tata Group’s AC maker Voltas had said it expects room air conditioner prices to rise 5-15 per cent this year due to rising copper prices and weakening rupee against the dollar. Let us tell you that last year was not good for the room AC industry, because sales were adversely affected due to unseasonal rains and other reasons. A year before that, the industry had registered a very good growth in the year 2024, that year there was intense heat in many parts of the country.
Estimated to sell 1.35 crore ACs this year
According to experts, this year there will be tough competition among room air conditioner businessmen, where companies will compete to increase the market share. The Indian room air conditioner market is estimated to be around 1.35 crore units, in which companies like Voltas, LG, Daikin, Bluestar, Panasonic and Lloyd compete.
