Along with some beautiful pictures of the two, Saira Banu talked about her early days in the film industry, her decades-long friendship and memories related to her late husband Dilip Kumar and Dharmendra. In this emotional note, Saira Banu told that Hema Malini had recently come to meet her at her house. This meeting brought back memories of the 1960s.
Saira’s first memorable meeting with Hema Malini
Recalling their recent meeting, Saira wrote, ‘It doesn’t seem like much time has passed at all, when Hema came to meet me at my house with her cousin Prabha and yet, my heart filled with joy when I came to know that she was coming again.’ After this Saira remembered the day when she met Hema Malini on the sets of the film ‘Deewana’ in 1966. Raj Kapoor was in the lead role in this film. Describing her first experience of Hema, Saira wrote, ‘When she walked in, she looked so lovely and at that very moment I got lost in the memories of our first meeting with Raj Kapoor on the sets of Deewana in 1966.’
Saira is a fan of Hema Malini’s beauty
Saira Banu further wrote, ‘I still remember that even at that time I was completely mesmerized by her beauty. There cannot be a more accurate word than this to express that feeling. Saira Banu also remembered the moments spent together during the shooting of the film near Krishna Raj Sagar Dam. He told how in those days, a deep bond had formed between them because they lived in adjacent rooms. She told, ‘After that, we met a few more times, whenever I think of those days, I remember most fondly our days spent at Krishna Raj Sagar Dam. Our rooms were next to each other, which meant that our days were spent with each other.
