Whenever there is talk of a cheap 7-seater car in the Indian car market, people look for a car which has more seats and good features at a lower price. This is the reason that as soon as the price of this popular MPV came down, a large number of customers started reaching the showroom. Its impact was clearly visible on sales and the total sales of this car exceeded 2 lakh units. In many cities one has to wait to buy it.
Renault’s famous 7-seater MPV Renault Triber has achieved a big position in the Indian market. According to industry data, 2,00,253 units have been sold by the end of January 2026, while 34,238 vehicles have also been exported by December 2025. Triber, launched in August 2019, has remained the company’s best performer for the last six and a half years.
Demand increased due to price cut
After the launch of the facelift model in July last year, its starting price was kept at Rs 6.30 lakh. But after the implementation of GST 2.0, the price was reduced to Rs 5.76 lakh. This cut had a direct impact on sales. Getting a 7-seater MPV at a hatchback-like price made the deal more attractive for family buyers.
New look and powerful features
The new model, launched on July 23, 2025, has a completely changed front design, new headlamps, LED DRL, slim gloss black grille and a new diamond logo. Features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, cruise control, auto headlamps and auto fold ORVM in the cabin make it more premium.
Engine and mileage also better
The new Triber has a 1.0 liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which generates 72 bhp power and 96 Nm torque. Both manual and AMT gearbox options are available. Mileage ranges from 19.59 to 19.76 km/l. There is also the option of a dealer-level fitted CNG kit, which comes with a factory warranty.
ahead in safety also
As safety features, features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and front parking sensor are being provided as standard. This is the reason why this 7-seater car with its low price, more space and better safety has become the first choice of middle class families.
