
Share Market Today, 23 February, 2026: The domestic stock market started trading in the green on Monday with a slight gain. On the first day of the week, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 92.12 points (0.11%) at 82,906.83 points. Similarly, NSE’s Nifty 50 index also started trading today at 25,678.40 points with a gain of 107.15 points (0.42%). Last week on Friday, the Sensex closed at 82,814.71 points with a gain of 316.57 points (0.38%), while the Nifty closed at 25,571.25 points with a gain of 116.90 points (0.46%).
Shares of 20 out of 30 Sensex companies made a positive start.
On Monday, shares of 20 out of 30 Sensex companies started trading in the green with gains, while shares of all the remaining 10 companies opened in the red with a decline. Similarly, out of 50 Nifty 50 stocks, only 39 companies opened in the green with a rise and shares of all the remaining 11 companies opened in the red with losses. Among the Sensex companies, shares of Axis Bank opened today with the maximum gain of 1.21 percent and shares of Quality Walls India opened today with the maximum fall of 2.63 percent.

The remaining Sensex stocks on Monday included HDFC Bank 0.86 percent, Tech Mahindra 0.67 percent, Bajaj Finance 0.65 percent, ICICI Bank 0.55 percent, Adani Ports 0.53 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.49 percent, Bharti Airtel 0.40 percent, Reliance Industries 0.38 percent, Hindustan Unilever 0.32 percent, Titan Shares of 0.22 percent, BEL 0.20 percent, Eternal 0.19 percent, Sun Pharma 0.16 percent, SBI 0.15 percent, Power Grid 0.15 percent, Maruti Suzuki 0.14 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.14 percent, ITC 0.14 percent and Tata Steel opened with a rise of 0.12 percent.
On the other hand, today shares of Infosys opened with a fall of 0.70 percent, Asian Paints 0.66 percent, Indigo 0.41 percent, Bajaj Finserv 0.32 percent, HCL Tech 0.29 percent, Trent 0.26 percent, NTPC 0.08 percent, TCS 0.08 percent and L&T 0.04 percent.
