Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Aggarwal has said many important things on his social media account on Monday. He said that in today’s turbulent geopolitics, it is very important for every big country to be self-reliant in terms of energy and India is very weak in this matter because we import 90% of our oil and gas. Aggarwal said that India is surrounded by sea on three sides, which can be blocked in difficult times. We have no choice but to increase our domestic production. We are the world’s fastest growing market for oil and gas and our demand will continue to grow for at least the next 20 years.
The world does not want India to produce
Anil Aggarwal said that the world does not want India to produce, the world wants India to remain a market only for them. He said that jobs are created in any country only through domestic production, which has been proven in other parts of the world. Anil Aggarwal further said, “We have to oppose this. We have to fight to become self-reliant. After all, this is a country that first depended on imports for food and then became self-reliant. All this happened because the government launched a movement to make the country self-reliant.
There is a need to move fast to make full use of the things present under the ground.
He further added, “Today, the world is increasingly securing its energy and mineral resources. India should also move forward rapidly to make full use of the resources present under the ground. The government is promoting growth, cooperation and investment. At Vedanta, our aim is to increase our production five times. For India, production will have to increase 10 times to meet future needs. This will support the vision of economic growth and developed India. My vision is to see thousands of drilling rigs working across the country.”
Small entrepreneurs can also join with an investment of Rs 5 crore.
Vedanta Chairman said that startups and small entrepreneurs can also participate in this with an investment of about Rs 5 crore through leasing of rigs. What we need most is a stable and supportive environment. This is the right time to move from heavy regulation to providing facilities for exploration and production so that the country can move towards energy independence. He said that India has a long way to go but India’s potential is extraordinary.
