
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Thursday shared important information regarding the situation of Indians stranded in Iran. Randhir Jaiswal said that the government is helping those Indians who want to go to Azerbaijan and Armenia and then take flights from there to return home. He said that the government is helping in providing visas for such people. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said that the Indian government is also helping Indians stranded in Iran to cross the land border, so that they can get out of war-torn Iran.
Indians advised to follow the advisory issued by the Indian Embassy.
Randhir Jaiswal while interacting with the media said, “There were or are approximately 9000 Indian citizens in Iran. These 9000 Indians include students, sailors, businessmen, professionals and some pilgrims. Many of these Indian citizens, mostly students, have left Iran and returned to their homes. We have shifted many Indian citizens present in the capital Tehran to other safe places and cities in the country, which include mostly students and pilgrims. The government has “We have contacted many Indian nationals in Iran and we have helped them to go to Azerbaijan and Armenia and then take flights from there to return back to India.” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has advised all Indian citizens who want to leave Iran through the land border to follow the advisory issued by the Indian Embassy.
Hundreds of people have died in Iran
