According to an NDTV report, Sudhir Kumar said on Sunday that he tried to deposit the bid amount twice on Saturday night, but the payment could not be made due to a technical glitch. He also said that his family is against spending Rs 1.17 crore for HR 88 B 8888 number plate. He told that talks are still going on with the family for this number plate. Sudhir told that the elders of the family say that spending such a huge amount for the number plate is not a wise decision. Whereas they are ready to spend huge amount of money for this number. Sudhir said that he will talk to his family and take the final decision by Monday.

The auction of this premium number started with a base price of Rs 50,000. By 12 noon on Wednesday, bidding for this number had reached Rs 88 lakh and at 5 pm the auction closed with a bid of Rs 1.17 crore. A total of 45 applicants had bid for this number. The online auction of VIP or fancy number plates in Haryana is a weekly process, conducted through the website fancy.parivahan.gov.in. In this, applicants can apply from Friday 5 pm to Monday 9 am.
