As the festival of Holi approaches, the crowd of passengers in trains has started increasing. The situation is such that after February 15, it has become difficult to get confirmed tickets on most routes, especially in the eastbound trains, there is a long waiting list. In view of this increasing crowd and problems of passengers, Indian Railways has taken a big decision. To provide relief to the passengers during Holi, Railways has announced to run 1410 Holi special trains, which will make it easier for lakhs of people to go home.
108 special trains will run from Northern Railway
Out of these 1410 special trains, 108 trains will be run under the Northern Railway zone. Most of these trains will depart from major stations of Delhi and NCR. This is expected to provide great relief to passengers living in areas like Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram. Northern Railway General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma said that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure that passengers do not face any inconvenience during Holi. Special arrangements will be made at the stations regarding crowd management, security and passenger convenience.
Every route is being monitored
According to railway officials, the situation of passenger traffic on every route is being constantly reviewed. Wherever there is more pressure, a decision will be taken to run more special trains as per the need. The focus of Railways is especially on those routes where the waiting list is increasing rapidly.
