Sujata Sharma said that panic booking of LPG is taking place in the country, hence it is a matter of concern. He said that on normal days, 50-55 lakh LPG cylinders were booked every day, but in the last few days, this booking has reached 75-76 lakh, which is happening due to panic. He said that there is no shortage of LPG in the country. No message of dry out has come from the gas distributors. Citizens have been appealed not to panic.

The government said that hospitals and hostels are being given priority for LPG supply. Compared to March 5, LPG production in the country has been increased by 40 percent. Apart from this, the government has also released 48,000 kiloliters i.e. about 4.8 crore liters of kerosene oil for distribution to the states. Along with this, the government has also instructed Coal India to provide coal to hotels and restaurants. Regarding the availability of petrol and diesel, the government said that there is no shortage of oil in the country. There is also adequate supply of petrol and diesel. Adequate oil is available at all pumps. An appeal has been made to the general public not to consume oil in open containers.
No shortage of CNG, PNG
The government said that there is no shortage of CNG and PNG in the country. There is neither any shortage nor any cut in the supply of CNG. Apart from this, there is no shortage of PNG supplied to homes. PNG customers will continue to get gas in future also. The government has appealed to the common people to shift from LPG to PNG and insist on PNG connection. The government said that there are currently 1.5 crore PNG consumers across the country. Apart from this, 60 lakh families can easily get PNG connection.
