The Civil Aviation Ministry informed on social media platform X on Friday afternoon that the Ministry is in constant touch with the Indian Meteorological Department and necessary decisions are being taken based on real-time weather forecasts. The ministry said that as a precautionary measure, some flights have already been canceled by the airlines and passengers are being informed in advance so that they do not reach the airport unnecessarily. Full refund and free rescheduling facility is also being provided to the passengers. Apart from this, airport directors have been instructed to ensure convenience and assistance to passengers.

At the same time, Delhi International Airport Limited, the company operating Delhi Airport, posted on Friday at 7:10 pm that operations at the airport are continuing normally and there is no major disruption. Meanwhile, Air India Express reported that flights from Delhi to several destinations including Pune, Ranchi, Bagdogra, Indore, Patna, Goa, Varanasi and Jodhpur have been canceled due to fog.

Indigo Airlines said in its statement on Friday afternoon that there is dense fog along with cold in Delhi-NCR, Amritsar, Jabalpur and Jalandhar. According to the airline, due to frequent changes in visibility, flight timings have been changed and operations may be slower than normal keeping safety standards in mind. Delhi International Airport Limited, in another statement in the morning, clarified that due to dense fog, flights at Delhi airport are being operated under CAT III conditions.
Although arrivals and departures are continuing, delays or temporary disruptions to some flights are possible. Indira Gandhi International Airport is the busiest airport in the country, handling around 1,300 flights daily under normal circumstances.
