
central Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Monday interacted with cab drivers associated with Bharat Taxi and answered their questions. While interacting with the drivers of ‘Bharat Taxi’, the country’s first cooperative sector taxi service, Amit Shah said that till now 2.5 lakh drivers have registered in this service. The Union Minister said that through Bharat Taxi, the government wants that the drivers who drive day and night should get profit from their hard work, and not some rich person. The purpose of running companies is to make the owner rich. The minister said that the aim of the government is also to make the owner rich, but not the company owner but the cab owner who is working hard day and night.
Drivers will have to be patient for 3 years
Amit Shah explained to the cab drivers with an example that they have to invest only Rs 500 in Bharat Taxi. After 3 years, Bharat Taxi will earn Rs 25 crore, out of which 20 percent money will be deposited in the account of Bharat Taxi as capital of the drivers and the remaining 80 percent money will be deposited in the bank account of the drivers based on their work. Amit Shah said that the people who are driving their cars in the cab service are the owners and the fare they are earning by driving is theirs, and also a share of the profit made by Bharat Taxi as a company will also be given to the drivers. However, he said that he will have to be patient for the first 3 years.
Along with cheap insurance, loan facility will also be available.
The Minister said that when the Board of Directors of Bharat Taxi will be elected, some seats will also be reserved for cab drivers, which will take care of the interests of the drivers. He said that Bharat Taxi Sarathi (driver) will get loan from Co-operative Bank, for this the driver’s vehicle will be the mortgage. IFFCO Tokio will insure the drivers, the premium for which will be very low. He said that the government is going to add many such provisions in Bharat Taxi. However, it will take some time and till then drivers will have to be patient.
