New Delhi: Big news related to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is coming out. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will run from June to August this year. During this period two routes can be used. The first route will go to Kailash Mansarovar via ‘Lipulekh Pass’ in Uttarakhand and the second route will go to Kailash Mansarovar via ‘Nathu La’ in Sikkim. Online application can be made for this. Apart from this, every information related to travel will be available on the website. According to the statement of the Ministry of External Affairs, applications for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra can be made till May 19.
100 pilgrims will go via two routes
“The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in coordination with the Chinese government will take place from June to August,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. It added, “This year, 10 batches of 50 pilgrims will cross the Lipulekh Pass via Uttarakhand and another 10 batches of 50 pilgrims will cross the Nathu La Pass via Sikkim.” The last date for registration is 19 May 2026.

Regarding going on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, the Ministry of External Affairs said in its statement, “Applications are being accepted on the website kmy.gov.in. Yatris will be selected through an impartial, computer-generated, random and gender-balanced selection process. Interested applicants can register on the website, log in and submit their application online. Applicants are not required to send letters or faxes to obtain information. The feedback options given on the website can be used to obtain information, register observations or “Can be used to make suggestions for improving the journey.”
Importance of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
Let us tell you that the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar located in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China holds religious significance for Hindus as well as followers of Jainism and Buddhism. The visit resumed last year after nearly 5 years as part of efforts to normalize relations between India and China. The visit was earlier postponed in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic and later postponed again due to the military standoff between the two sides along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
