
Goa There is a tremendous increase in the number of tourists visiting. During the year 2025, the number of tourists visiting Goa will cross the magic figure of 1 crore. The state government said that last year about 1.08 crore tourists reached Goa, out of which the number of foreign tourists was more than 5 lakh. Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte on Sunday said the Goa government’s focus is on promoting quality tourism, diversifying markets and pursuing ‘regenerative tourism’ of the coastal state. He said that this is being done to ensure that the benefits of tourism accrue to local communities, the environment and the economy in the long term.
40,336 foreign tourists arrived by 189 charter planes in 2025
Goa Tourism Department said on Sunday that in the year 2025, 1,02,84,608 domestic tourists and 5,17,802 foreign tourists came to Goa, taking the total number of tourists to 1,08,02,410. The department said that foreign tourists coming to Goa through charter planes have played an important role in the tourism of the state. “In 2024, the number of charter flights was 266 carrying 58,680 tourists. In 2025, Goa had 189 charter flights carrying 40,336 foreign tourists with operations divided between Dabolim and Mopa airports,” a statement by the Goa Tourism Department said.
After Covid, recovery is going on continuously from 2022
According to statistics, the number of tourists in Goa, famous for its beautiful beaches, has increased continuously in the last few years. The state received 68,95,234 domestic tourists and 8,90,459 foreign tourists in 2017. Rohan Khaunte said, “In 2017, 2460 international flights operated from Dabolim Airport, which welcomed 3,35,573 foreign tourists. This number gradually declined till 2021, when only 265 flights and 11,971 tourists were recorded due to restrictions due to Corona.” It started a steady recovery in 2022, with 1135 flights and 1,34,922 tourists. The minister said that in 2024, these figures will increase to 1546 flights and 1,95,990 tourists.
