Premium motorcycle segment giant BMW Motorrad India on Friday announced that the prices of its entire motorcycle range will be increased by up to 6 percent from January 1, 2026. This decision will be applicable to both models manufactured in India and imported from abroad (CBU). Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, has mainly attributed this price increase to economic pressures.
The company says that there is pressure of foreign exchange. Import costs have increased due to the continuous decline in the Indian rupee against the dollar and euro. The prices of raw materials have increased. Apart from this, the cost of transportation and logistics has increased. According to the company, this step is essential to safeguard the long-term sustainability of the business and profitability of the dealer network.
Which models will be affected
BMW Motorrad India’s portfolio includes bikes assembled in India as well as premium imported models. The ‘Made in India’ range includes popular models like the BMW G 310 RR and the electric BMW CE 02, which have strengthened the brand’s hold in the entry-level premium segment. At the same time, imported models include adventure, touring and premium scooter bikes like BMW F 900 GS, BMW F 900 GSA, BMW R 1300 GS, BMW C 400 GT, and electric BMW CE 04. Although the company has not yet revealed the model-wise price hike, different models may see different price increases depending on the level of localization.
Current prices and impact on buyers
According to the official website of BMW Motorrad India, currently the prices of the company’s motorcycles range between Rs 2.81 lakh to Rs 48.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The new prices will be applicable from early 2026, so potential buyers may consider purchasing the bike before the price increase. Industry experts believe that the dealership may see an increase in customer inquiries and bookings in the last months of 2025.
