Kia Seltos, one of India’s famous mid-size SUVs, is going to be introduced in a new avatar today with a major update. Seltos, which was launched for the first time in the year 2019, created its own identity in the Indian SUV market and now the company is going to transform it into a next-generation model which will bring a big upgrade on all three fronts – design, features and technology. Looking at the teasers, it is clear that this time Seltos has not just changed, but is returning with a completely new DNA, which includes features ranging from panoramic sunroof to animated LED lighting that will surprise SUV lovers.

Aggressive design and new identity

The new Kia Seltos has been designed on the company’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, due to which its look has become bolder, squarer and muscular than ever before. The front features a new digital tiger-face grille paired with sharp, vertical LED DRLs. The new C-shaped lighting pattern, star-map LED signature and full-width LED light bar at the rear give it a premium and futuristic appeal. Flush-fitting door handles, darkened pillars, new alloy wheels and a large panoramic sunroof give this SUV a more upmarket look. The special feature is the animated welcome lighting sequence, which brings a never-seen-before premium touch to the headlamps and DRLs.

New touch of luxury in the cabin

As soon as you sit inside, the first thing that catches your eye is its dual 12.3-inch curved display setup, one of which is a digital instrument cluster and the other is the infotainment screen. The design of the cabin is simple but looks quite premium. The new 3-spoke steering wheel, slim AC vents and layered dashboard give a very modern and high-tech feel to the entire interior. At the same time, the GT Line variant will get features like black-and-cream dual-tone interior, brushed metal pedals and wide ambient lighting strips. The center console has a compact gear selector, redesigned drive mode button and sliding cupholder cover.

Premium features of the car

  • panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated and powered front seats
  • wireless charging
  • boss mode rear seat
  • premium sound system
  • Hybrid engines, although the old 1.5L petrol, 1.5L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel engines will continue.
  • Strong-hybrid powertrain

The competition will be even tougher

In the Indian market, it will compete with Creta, Sierra, Victoris, Hayrider, Elevate, Taigun, Kushaq, Astor and the upcoming Duster and Tecton.
