The war for the SUV segment in the Indian car market has now become even more intense. Leading car manufacturer Skoda has launched the new facelift avatar (2026 model) of its most popular SUV, Kushaq. Coming with modern features and modern solid design language, this car will not only give tough competition to cars like Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra and Kia Seltos.

The biggest attraction of the new Skoda Kushaq facelift is its new front grille, which now looks wider and more commanding than before. It has sleek LED headlamps with new eyebrow style LED DRL signature. At the rear, it now gets connected LED taillights with glowing SKODA writing in the middle, giving it a premium look at night. The company has introduced this car in new colors like Shimla Green, Cherry Red and Steel Grey.

Interior and Features

You feel the luxury as soon as you step inside the cabin. Skoda has added many features which are being seen for the first time in this segment:

  • Rear seat massage function: To make long journeys comfortable, massage facility has been provided on the rear seats.
  • AI assistant: It has a 10.1-inch touchscreen that now comes with Google AI Assistant.
  • panoramic sunroof: Considering the huge demand of customers, now a large panoramic sunroof has been provided in the top variants.
  • digital cockpit: A 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster has been provided for the driver.

Engine and Performance

Mechanically, the biggest change in the car is in its 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Now the old 6-speed torque converter has been replaced with a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, which gives better mileage and smoother driving experience. The 1.5-litre engine (150 hp) is still available with the option of a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Price and Safety

In terms of safety, Kushaq has received a 5-star Global NCAP rating. Features like 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and disc brakes on all wheels (in 1.5L model) are provided as standard.
