On Saturday, February 21, 2026, the Uttar Pradesh government distributed compensation of ₹ 285 crore to 2.51 lakh farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Kharif-2025), assistance of ₹ 175 crore to 3,500 families under the Chief Minister Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme and life insurance benefits to Aapda Mitras. On this occasion, foundation stones of agricultural buildings and soil testing laboratories were also laid in various districts. On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also laid the foundation stone of agricultural buildings and soil testing laboratories in various districts and extended hearty congratulations to all the beneficiaries and good wishes for the holy festival of Holi.

Rs 876 crore allocated in State Disaster Response Fund

The Chief Minister also informed that in the year 2025-26, we have allocated Rs 876 crore in the State Disaster Response Fund. Of these, agricultural investment grant of Rs 260 crore has been distributed to 5,14,322 farmers affected by crop damage. We have distributed an amount of Rs 216 crore to 5,398 victims of loss of life and Rs 24 crore to 27,448 affected people of house damage.

Earlier no one used to inquire about the condition of the victim.

On the occasion of releasing the assistance amount to the farmers at a program in Lucknow on Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that whenever any disaster occurs, we try to ensure that the money reaches the victim’s account within 24 hours. He said that earlier there used to be a disaster and for years no one would inquire about the condition of the victim. The question of compensation is far away. Couldn’t get it. Even if there was an attempt to give it to someone, I was watching, once in 2015-16, someone would get Rs 2, someone Rs 4 in the farmer’s account. Today you must be seeing that the government changed and we started taking immediate action.

Family members also covered under Chief Minister Farmer Accident Insurance

Adityanath said that earlier under the Chief Minister Farmer Accident Insurance, only the farmer was covered, the farmer family members were not covered. When our government was formed, we said that we will cover everyone. Earlier there was no sharecropper. The co-farmer was not covered under it. Today we are providing assistance of more than Rs 1000 crore to these Annadata farmers or their associates or any of their family members who suffer from famine or die in an accident.
