Responding to the discussion on the budget in Parliament on Wednesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that our government has a lot of emphasis on infrastructure. He said that MSMEs are going to benefit a lot from the announcement made in the budget. At the same time, the youth are going to benefit from the announcement made regarding skill development. The Finance Minister also said that the government will also promote medical tourism, which also includes AYUSH. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that I am happy to say that on the recommendation of the state finance ministers who met me before preparing the budget, which is a normal calendar event, because I meet the state finance ministers before every budget and following their recommendation, the capital expenditure support that we provide, which is a 50-year interest-free loan, will eventually be equivalent to a grant.
Join Education Skills and Entrepreneurship Centers
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that now students should not look for different paths to learn skills after completing their education. He said that skill development can be made a part of education, so that students can directly move towards entrepreneurship after completion of studies. Sitharaman said that we have said that instead of looking for acquiring skills after completing education, it can be included in the education itself. When students come out of this, they will be able to say that I can become an entrepreneur. And such a mega center can be established near the industrial cluster of any state.
Mega entrepreneurship development centers can become hubs of education
He also said that these mega entrepreneurship creation centers can serve as education hubs. These centers can be set up in the states and the government is ready to cooperate with the states for this. Sitharaman further said that we want this huge higher education center to be established, so that students can go there and come out as entrepreneurs. This initiative is being considered an important step towards linking higher education and skill development, which will not only provide employment opportunities to the students but will also enable them to start their own businesses.
