
The country’s general budget is to be presented on Sunday i.e. 1 February. Due to a special event on the budget day, there is going to be a lot of activity on the streets of Delhi, in view of which Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken an important decision. DMRC has announced that metro services on three lines will be started much earlier than the usual time, i.e. from 3:30 am on Sunday.
In fact, Indian Navy Half Marathon is also being organized at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on 1st February. Thousands of participants are likely to participate in this marathon, out of which a large number of people will reach the venue via metro. Keeping this in mind, DMRC has decided to start metro services soon for the convenience of passengers.
Metro will be available early morning on these three lines
According to DMRC, on the budget day i.e. Sunday, metro services on the fixed routes on Yellow, Blue and Violet lines will start much earlier than the normal time.
- Between Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Center (Gurgaon) on Yellow Line.
- Between Dwarka to Noida Electronic City and Vaishali on Blue Line.
- Between Kashmiri Gate to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh) on Violet Line.
Metro trains will operate on all these routes from 3:30 am to 6:00 am.
What will be the schedule after 6 o’clock?
DMRC has clarified that after 6 am, metro services will run as per the normal Sunday time table. That is, the metro will run under special arrangements for the first three hours, after which passengers will continue to get services as per the regular Sunday schedule.
Decision taken in view of half marathon
Thousands of runners are expected to participate in the Indian Navy Half Marathon to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. A large number of participants reach the venue early in the morning. Keeping in mind that there is no pressure on road traffic and environment-friendly travel is promoted, DMRC has decided to start metro services soon.

DMRC has also shared information about this special arrangement through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The Metro administration has appealed to the passengers to plan their journey ahead of time and utilize the Metro services as much as possible.
