In such a situation, Delhi Metro has made special arrangements to make the movement of people easy and safe. Delhi Metro will run from 3 am

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said that on the occasion of Republic Day, metro services will be started from 3 am on January 26. This system will be applicable on all lines, so that passengers can be easily transported to the parade venue and surrounding areas. According to DMRC, metro trains will run at an interval of every 15 minutes from 3 am to 6 am. After this, metro services will operate as per their regular time table.

There will also be parking facility

Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, parking arrangements will be available at all metro stations on January 26. This will provide relief to those people who want to reach the station by private vehicle and then travel further by metro.

Some gates of these metro stations will remain closed

Due to security reasons, some entry and exit gates at some major metro stations will remain temporarily closed on Republic Day. These restrictions will remain in force from 3 am till the end of the program.

  • Central Secretariat Metro Station: Gate No. 3 & 4
  • Udyog Bhawan: Gate No. 1
  • Red Fort: Gate No. 3 and 4
  • Jama Masjid: Gate No. 3 and 4
  • Delhi Gate: Gate No. 1, 4 and 5
  • ITO: Gate No. 3, 4 & 6

DMRC has appealed to the passengers to plan their journey keeping these restrictions in mind and fully cooperate with the security personnel.

What will be open and what will be closed on January 26?

There will be a public holiday in Delhi on Republic Day. All schools, colleges, government offices, banks and most post offices will remain closed. However, public transport such as buses, taxis and metro services will run smoothly. Apart from this, hospitals, clinics and emergency health services will continue as normal.
