
SoftBank-backed e-commerce platform Meesho is going to launch its first initial public offering i.e. IPO on December 3. You will be able to bid from this date. This much-awaited IPO will include a fresh issue of ₹4,250 crore. According to PTI news, the public offer will close on December 5, while the share allotment for anchor investors will be done on December 2. This information has been given in the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) filed by the company on Thursday.
Sale of shares under Offer-for-Sale (OFS)
Apart from the fresh issue, the IPO will also have an offer-for-sale (OFS) of 10.55 crore shares, in which early large investors of Meesho will sell their stake. These include Elevation Capital, Peak XV Partners, Venture Highway and Y Combinator. Many other investors will also participate in this process.
use of funds raised
The company said that the funds raised from the IPO will be spent on strengthening cloud infrastructure, investing in marketing and brand building, inorganic growth through acquisitions, funding various strategic initiatives and meeting general corporate needs. The final valuation of Meesho and the total size of the IPO will be clear only after the price band is decided, which will be announced on Friday.

The company’s net merchandise value i.e. NMV increased by 29% to ₹ 29,988 crore in FY 2025. This increase was 21% in FY24 last year. NMV is the total checkout value of successfully delivered orders, which is an important measure of customer retention, repeat usage and overall business health of an e-commerce platform.
Net loss of ₹3,942 crore in FY25
Meesho suffered a net loss of ₹3,942 crore in FY25. According to the company, the loss was mainly due to one-time exceptional items such as reverse flip tax and requisition tax, which were mandatory at the time of the company’s transition to a public company structure.
