KTM India has launched a new high-tech variant of its most affordable bike 160 Duke in the Indian market. This entry-level performance bike, which was first launched by the company in August 2025, has now been made even smarter. The new variant has brought with it many modern features, due to which there has been a slight increase in its price. According to NDTV news, the price of the new TFT variant is ₹ 1.78 lakh (ex-showroom). The current base variant will be available for ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom).

What have been the changes?

The biggest attraction of the update in the bike is its instrument cluster. The company has now given it a premium 5-inch color TFT display, which is inspired by its elder brother (Gen-3 KTM 390 Duke).

  • Bonded Glass Display: For better visibility and premium look.
  • Connectivity: Smartphone can be connected through Bluetooth.
  • Smart Features: Turn-by-turn navigation, music controls and call alerts.
  • Four-way switchgear: New menu buttons have been provided to handle all these features easily.

Engine and Performance

Mechanically, no changes have been made to the KTM 160 Duke. As before, the bike has a 164cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which generates power of 19 hp at 9,500 rpm and peak torque of 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm. With these figures, this bike is considered to be the most powerful motorcycle in its segment. Its power-to-weight ratio is also quite impressive with a curb weight of 147 kg.

Hardware and Safety

High-quality components have been used in the bike to give it excellent handling:

  • Frame: Signature split trellis frame.
  • Suspension: WP Apex forks at the front and monoshock at the rear.
  • Braking: 320 mm disc brake at front and 230 mm disc brake at rear.
  • Tyres: 17-inch alloy wheels (wide 140-section tire at the rear).

Compete with these bikes

KTM 160 Duke has direct competition with these giants present in the market:

  • Yamaha MT-15: (Price starts at ₹1.55 lakh) – A blend of style and mileage.
  • TVS Apache RTR 160 4V: (Prices start at ₹1.15 lakh) – Value for money option.
