Union Minister Nitin Gadkari told in the Vidhan Bhavan complex that the work on these projects will start in the next three months. Nagpur parliamentary constituency MP Nitin Gadkari had reached Vidhan Bhavan complex on Saturday to participate in the centenary celebrations of the Legislative Council. While talking to journalists here, he said that Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) will build the new Pune-Sambhajinagar Expressway at an expense of about Rs 16,318 crore. The Union Minister said that the work on an MoU for this expressway has also been completed.

With the construction of the new Pune-Sambhajinagar Expressway, the journey from Pune to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will be completed in just two hours. Apart from this, the journey from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Nagpur will take only two and a half hours. The minister said that the Bhoomi Pujan of Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur elevated road, which is being built at a cost of Rs 4207 crore, will be done after the completion of the local body elections. He said that the DPR process for Hadapsar-Yavat elevated road is going on and its construction work will also start after the elections.

Road projects worth Rs 50,000 crore approved for Pune region

The Union Minister said that road projects worth Rs 50,000 crore have been approved for the Pune region and work will start in the next three months. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the new expressway to be built along the existing Pune-Mumbai Expressway will reduce the travel time between the two cities to just one and a half hours. The construction of this expressway is estimated to cost Rs 15,000 crore. With this, the travel time between Mumbai-Pune-Bangalore will reduce to five and a half hours. Nitin Gadkari said that out of these projects, work worth Rs 50,000 crore has been handed over to PWD.
