
Indigo flights cancellation: The crisis over IndiGo’s flight operations continued for the sixth consecutive day. The problems of passengers increased due to cancellation of many Indigo flights at Delhi Airport on Sunday 7th December. Due to cancellation of Indigo flights, long queues formed at Indira Gandhi International Airport and people were seen waiting for hours. According to ANI, news of cancellation of several IndiGo flights was shown on the flight information screen of Delhi Airport.
More than 30 flights were also canceled at Chennai airport. Many IndiGo passengers also faced flight cancellations and delays at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Let us tell you that more than 2000 Indigo flights have been canceled in the last five days. This has affected major hubs like Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, where hundreds of flights were canceled continuously.
800 flights canceled on Saturday
IndiGo issued a statement on Saturday saying that it canceled more than 800 flights that day, which is less than on Friday, when more than 1000 flights were cancelled. The situation of passengers has become worse due to the increasing chaos in the airline network.
Government is strict on air fares
Amidst this crisis, the government issued an order to control air fares. According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, the fare has been fixed at a maximum of Rs 7500 for flights up to 500 km, Rs 12,000 for flights between 500 to 1000 km, Rs 15,000 for flights between 1000 to 1500 km and Rs 18,000 for flights more than 1500 km. These rules will not apply to business class and Udaan scheme flights.
